UniPrint Gateway Edition is the ideal printing solution for all client platforms connecting to Citrix/Terminal Servers. The software manages printing services on behalf of thin clients. It also enables administrators to centrally manage and maintain printing functions across multiple platforms in local and remote locations easily. It is simple to install, integrate, manage and use.
Features
Universal Printer Driver – UniPrint Gateway Edition manages printing services on behalf of thin clients, enabling end users to print to any printer. No other printer drivers are required on Citrix/Terminal Server. This also eliminates server instability issues caused by multiple printer driver incompatibilities.
PDF File Generation – UniPrint generates PDF files from print data, allowing users to save, e-mail or print the data in PDF format. Since UniPrint Gateway Edition sends all documents to print as compressed PDF files, bandwidth is conserved. This makes printing to remote offices over a VPN or WAN connection faster, more efficient, reliable and economical.
Enhanced Protocol - The new UniPrint Bi-directional Information eXchange Protocol (BIXP) provides a direct channel for the transfer of compressed PDF print data, delivering superior printing speed. Print data is encrypted end-to-end, while printer status is displayed to end users in real time.
Active Directory Integration – The new UniPrint Gateway Edition can be deployed through Active Directory. Gateway printers are created as shared Windows network printers. This enables administrators to easily change printer properties and security, while allowing end users to easily locate their printers using the Windows Find Printer option.
Cluster Services – Windows Cluster Services helps keep business going through unforeseen circumstances. Using Cluster Services, UniPrint Gateway Edition allows for fault-tolerant print implementations to keep on printing through planned and unplanned outages.
